The export scenario of grapes, mango, flowers, and vegetables shows impressive achievements of the state in horticulture development.
The National Horticulture Mission (NHM) has been launched by the GOI, in 2005-06 with the main objective of increasing the area,
production, and productivity of horticulture crops.
The mission is implemented in all 34 districts of Maharashtra as Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) from the
year 2014-15.
The pattern of Assistances - Central Government & State Government is 60:40.
• On 19 th Sept. 2013 at the 6 th Agriculture Leadership Summit at New Delhi Maharashtra received The Best Horticulture State Award.

• Cultivation of fruit crops through NHM has brought the leading position of Maharashtra in the production of major fruit crops.
Thousands of dry land acreages came under fruit cultivation under NHM schemes, generated employment in rural areas,
and uplifted state farmers socio-economically.
